Choices

Americans have a lot choices or so we are made to believe. I am not certain of that. Let's look at some of the choices they have. They currently have two choices for their future president. One who wants be Robin Hood, steal money from people who work and  give it people who don't want to work. The other wants to steal money from the working class and make the filthy rich richer. Not much of a choice in my opinion. Food, oh there is so much food here. All super enriched delicious carcinogenic agent. You could eat or smoke cigarettes, pick one it doesn't really matter which one. Television, oh man there so many options here, any show you pick is guaranteed to make you dumber. Your other option would be see their movies which will have the same effect. I can go on with more less obvious lack of choices but I guess you get the point. Americans need to Wake Up before it is too late.

Journalism and Antithesis.

You people are not tuned in well enough on how read your newspapers. Please, allow me. Let's say that you read this
Although the ruling clergy in Iran are very unpopular, they are not going anywhere anytime soon.
The right way interpret it would be
The ruling clergy in Iran are very popular but I want them to be unpopular, disdainful and overthrown soon.
People writing in newspapers, the intellectuals, always have the opposite view compared to the people, anti-intellectuals, who elected these governments. Trust me on this, i have had the rare opportunity of being among both these kinds.

Cultural differences I don't think so

It's a little more than a year in the US. At the surface the culture here looks totally different from India but after a year I have seen more similarities than I have seen with any other culture. Here are some them
  • We have around 50% illiteracy and the US had 51% as of November 2004.
  • We have morons who name their children 'Butterfly' and they have morons who name their children 'Finally'. I am not kidding on both counts.
  • US and India are probably the only two countries where unusually high number of crappy movies are made and are yet successful.
  • We kill in the name of religion and they kill in the name of race.
  • We have contributed some cool music genres like Bollywood music and they have Country music and boy are we proud of it. (I happened to drive a few hours through Indiana without my iPod and was at the mercy of the radio stations for music. Fuck I was close to going nuts, every fuckin radio station playing country music).
  • We have retards who believe that their language is the mother of all languages and they have retards who believe everyone in this world can speak English.

If any one has observed other similarities please chip in.

Irrational exuberance

I can't read the India press any more. I am sick and tired of the irrational writing. I don't think there has been a week in the last few years that Indian press hasn't written about how "India is shining", how we are the next superpower and how we will rule the world by becoming the permanent member of the Security Council. It unfortunate to see that journalists, if you can still call them as that, have forgotten not only the facts but also history. May be I should refresh their memory. The astuteness of the leaders of our free world, past and present, is very admirable, particularly when they talk about our future. Winston Churchill may be Sir Winston Churchill, about the future of our world “The government of the world must be entrusted to satisfied nations, who wished nothing more for themselves than what they had. If the world-government were in the hands of hungry nations there would always be danger. But none of us had any reason to seek for anything more…. Our power placed us above the rest. We were like the rich men dwelling at peace within their habitations.” Ref: Winston Churchill: The Second World War, Vol. 5 (1951), p. 382.

Better leave the race question blank.

If you plan to apply for MIT you are better off leaving the race empty, especially if you are Korean. http://www.dailyprincetonian.com/archives/2007/01/19/news/17134.shtml http://www-tech.mit.edu/V127/N10/affirmativeaction.html
