Irrational exuberance
I can't read the India press any more. I am sick and tired of the irrational writing. I don't think there has been a week in the last few years that Indian press hasn't written about how "India is shining", how we are the next superpower and how we will rule the world by becoming the permanent member of the Security Council. It unfortunate to see that journalists, if you can still call them as that, have forgotten not only the facts but also history. May be I should refresh their memory.
The astuteness of the leaders of our free world, past and present, is very admirable, particularly when they talk about our future. Winston Churchill may be Sir Winston Churchill, about the future of our world “The government of the world must be entrusted to satisfied nations, who wished nothing more for themselves than what they had. If the world-government were in the hands of hungry nations there would always be danger. But none of us had any reason to seek for anything more…. Our power placed us above the rest. We were like the rich men dwelling at peace within their habitations.”
